Job summary

CQUniversity Australia is seeking a hands-on Facilities Officer to support campus operations across the Mackay region. You will assist with setting up events, relocating offices and furniture, and help trades staff with maintenance tasks in outdoor environments.

This role requires practical, reliable workers who can work independently or in a team, and adapt to changing priorities and urgent requests, while adhering to safety regulations.

• Total Remuneration $80,178 to $89,333 pa (including salary of $67,752 to $75,488 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
• Equivalent Hourly Rate: $35.81 to $39.90 per hour

Working at CQUniversity

This is a hands-on role with plenty of variety. You’ll support the day-to-day operation of our campuses, from setting up events and relocating offices and furniture, to assisting trades staff, carrying out general maintenance and keeping our grounds neat and well maintained.

You’ll work across a range of tasks and environments, using equipment such as mowers and whipper-snippers, helping with minor repairs and maintenance, supporting deliveries and responding to jobs as they arise. No two days are likely to look the same.

We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and takes pride in their work. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, as part of a team and outdoors, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities and the occasional urgent job.

Position Requirements

• Perform a wide range of tasks, including basic maintenance and servicing of tools and equipment such as mowers, whipper-snippers and irrigation systems.
• Maintain campus grounds to ensure they remain clean, tidy and presentable.
• Perform a broad range of general services, including furniture relocations, fleet vehicle cleaning, event and function setup, and basic grounds maintenance.
• Work in compliance with Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
