Job summary

Rio Tinto is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintainer to join our Bell Bay Aluminium maintenance team in Tasmania. This permanent role offers career development within a safety-focused environment and a chance to work on site at the Bell Bay smelter.

You will perform planned, preventative and breakdown electrical maintenance across our plant and equipment, diagnose faults, and contribute to reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• A strong commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• An Australian-recognised electrical trade qualification.
• A current Australian A Grade Electrical Licence.
• A valid C Class driver's licence.
• Experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial, manufacturing, heavy industry or fixed plant environment.
• Demonstrated electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting capability.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Performing planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on electrical plant and equipment
• Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults and equipment defects
• Raising notifications and completing work orders through our maintenance management systems
• Undertaking electrical isolations, testing and commissioning activities in accordance with site procedures
• Identifying defects and providing accurate feedback on asset condition, performance and reliability
• Supporting defect elimination, continuous improvement and asset reliability initiatives
• Ensuring maintenance activities are completed in accordance with work orders, job instructions and relevant safety requirements
• Undertaking post-maintenance testing, commissioning and clean-up to safely return equipment to service
• Working collaboratively with other trades and operational teams to safely minimise equipment downtime
