Rio Tinto is seeking Operators for the Bell Bay Aluminium site in Northern Tasmania. You will support the operational teams to ensure safe, sustainable aluminium production while working with cranes, mobile equipment and process control in a hot, physically demanding setting.

You’ll join a tight-knit team and receive thorough training and ongoing support. We value safety, teamwork and a willingness to engage in labour-intensive tasks on a 12-hour shift roster including days and nights.

About the role

The role of an Operator is vital to the success of our business. Supported by your leader and the experienced team, you will learn to be responsible for supporting our operational departments to ensure the safe and sustainable production of aluminium through the operation of mobile and fixed plant equipment in conjunction with manual duties. You'll be working in a hot, physically demanding environment, doing manual work that will challenge you. But you won't be doing it alone. You'll be part of a tight-knit, supportive team that’s got your back from day one. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable experience to build a rewarding career. What you’ll bring

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• A current driver’s licence

• A demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and to autonomously manage your workload

• A willingness to work in a labour-intensive role, at heights and in hot environments

• Ability to work on a shift roster of 12-hour shifts including days and nights
