Rio Tinto is seeking a Mechanical Maintainer or Boilermaker to join our Bell Bay maintenance team in Tasmania. You will perform planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical assets, identify faults, and support reliability initiatives to ensure safe, reliable operation of critical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical and fixed plant equipment.

• Support defect elimination and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Complete maintenance activities safely in line with procedures.
• Undertake equipment commissioning and post-maintenance checks.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to improve performance.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintainer or Boilermaker to join our maintenance team in Bell Bay.

In this role, you will carry out planned and breakdown maintenance across our mechanical assets, helping ensure our equipment remains safe, reliable and available. You’ll work closely with your team to identify equipment defects, troubleshoot mechanical issues and contribute to improvements in asset reliability and performance.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Performing planned and breakdown maintenance on mechanical and fixed plant equipment


• Identifying, diagnosing and rectifying equipment faults and defects


• Raising notifications and completing work orders through our maintenance management system


• Supporting defect elimination and equipment reliability initiatives


• Completing maintenance activities safely and in line with work instructions and procedures


• Undertaking equipment commissioning and post-maintenance checks


• Working collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance


• Identifying opportunities to improve safety, reliability and maintenance practices
