Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Mail Sorting Officer to join a Delivery Centre in NSW. You will help prepare mail for next-day delivery, sorting letters and parcels and assisting with loading and unloading from bags, trays and transport vehicles.

You will also operate conveyors and assist with mail tracking to ensure accurate processing. You will rotate across functions, learn pallet jacks and BT equipment, and contribute to a safe, efficient operation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Flexible and willing to work extra hours and undertake additional duties
• Detail-focused, reliable and able to safely lift and handle items up to 16kg individually, with team lifting required for articles up to 22kg
• Comfortable performing manual handling tasks and working in a fast-paced operational environment
• Willing to rotate across multiple operational functions throughout the shift
• Communicate clearly, work proactively and support teammates in busy environments
• Willing to be trained in and operate pallet jacks, BT equipment and other operational tools and equipment
• Committed to workplace safety procedures, operational standards and working collaboratively as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sort mail for delivery; assist with processing letters, parcels and Express Post items
• Load and unload mail from bags, trays, containers and transport vehicles
• Operate conveyor belt processes and conduct scanning for mail tracking
• Support loose load operations and unloading from ULDs onto conveyors
• Rotate across different operational functions to maintain efficient mail flow
