Job summary

Spicers Australia is seeking a Machine Operator - Rewinder for the Direct Paper team based in Dingley. You will operate the Catbridge rewinder to convert paper rolls into sheets and ensure quality and safety in a busy warehouse.

Working 40 hours per week from 6.00am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility. Training will be provided, and the role falls under the site Enterprise Agreement with an hourly rate of $35.82.

Qualifications

Spicers is a national Company with offices and warehouses in every state and territory in Australia. We are a leading provider of products and services to the print, design and advertising industries. Our range is targeted at various print segments and includes fine paper, point of sale materials, synthetics, self-adhesives, packaging grades and a number of other substrates.

About this Position

A new opportunity exists for a Machine Operator - Rewinder to join the Direct Paper team based in Dingley. Development and training will be provided for the successful candidate. You will be responsible for operating the Catbridge rewinder to convert paper rolls into different sized sheets in our busy warehouse.

You will be required to work 40 hours between 6.00am – 2.30pm, Monday to Friday (some flexibility may be required). This role reports to the Warehouse Manager.

The hourly rate for this position is $35.82. All other conditions are in accordance with the site's Enterprise Agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Setting up and operating the Catbridge rewinder
• Rewinding paper to customer specifications
• Visually checking paper for faults, damage, or inconsistencies
• Keeping work areas clean, safe and organised
• Working closely with other warehouse team members and management
• Following job instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures

Required Skills and experience

• Experience in a rewind, finishing, or production role (highly regarded)
• Comfortable working with machinery and tools
• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Willingness to learn and be trained on specialist equipment
• Forklift licence would be an advantage (but not essential)
• “Tech savvy”- comfortable with learning and using IT systems
• Knowledge of SAP with RF experience (advantageous)
