Job summary

Labelmakers Group in Somerton, VIC is seeking a Die Cutting Machine Operator to join the Finishing team. You will safely run die cutting/rewind machinery, ensure proper setup, and prepare tooling and materials for each job.

The role offers a 4-day afternoon shift (2:30pm–12:30am) across a 37.5-hour week with a 20% shift loading. You will be part of a hands-on manufacturing environment, focused on quality and GMP compliance, reporting to the Production Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in print finishing or packaging manufacturing preferred.
• Proactive and able to plan work, materials, and machine setup.
• Team player with clear communication across shifts.
• Detail-oriented with a strong quality mindset.

Responsibilities

• Safely and consistently run die cutting/rewind machines.
• Efficiently set up machines and prepare tooling and materials.
• Support corrective actions and perform minor maintenance.
• Clean, pack, palletise and store products as needed.
• Collaborate with production to maintain GMP and safety standards.
• Contribute to all production steps and maintain housekeeping.

About the opportunity:

We're currently looking for a Die Cutting Machine Operator to join our team at Labelmakers VIP Division in Somerton, VIC.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be an integral member of our Finishing team. Whether you're an experienced print finisher, machine operator, or someone with a strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

Enjoy a 4-day afternoon shift, Monday to Thursday, working 2:30pm to 12:30am across a 37.5-hour week, plus a 20% shift loading.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Safe and controlled running of the Die Cutting/Rewind machines.
• Efficient set-up of our machines and preparation of the tooling, labels and other raw materials to maximise equipment efficiency.
• Support the team implementing corrective measures and perform minor preventative maintenance to ensure continuous machine operation
• At times clean, pack, palletise and store products and materials
• Interact well and maintain a positive relationship with all production functions.
• You will contribute to all steps in our production process and practices including, Quality, Safety, Good Manufacturing practice (GMP) housekeeping and Environmental control measures.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Ideally, experience working in a print or packaging manufacturing environment as a machine operator - Experience in Print Finishing or someone with a go to attitude will take you to the top of our list!
• Be proactive and able to think forward and plan your work i.e., able to be prepared with materials, machine set-up or equipment for upcoming jobs
• Be a team player that can communicate effectively across multiple work groups.
• Able to work autonomously and are self-motivated.
• To have high attention to detail and proud of your work standard – quality focus.
