Job summary

Zoom Recruitment is seeking reliable Machine Operators / Overhead Crane Operators for our client’s steel manufacturing sites in Dandenong South and Noble Park. Roles cover steel processing, crane operations, material handling and dispatch with day, afternoon and night shifts available.

No prior experience is required, though forklift experience is beneficial. Opportunities for full on-the-job training and long-term casual work are offered, with safety as a priority across industrial environments.

Our client is a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel products, with opportunities available across their Dandenong South Steel Centre and Noble Park Reinforcing operations.

They are currently seeking reliable and safety-focused Machine Operators / Overhead Crane Operators to join their teams across steel processing, production, overhead crane operations, material handling and dispatch.

Day Shift: 5:45am to 1:45pm – $42.75 per hour + Super

Night Shift: 9:45pm to 5:45am – $47.88 per hour + Super

Afternoon Shift: 3pm to 11pm – $46.97 per hour + Super

Key Duties

• Working within steel manufacturing and processing environments
• Moving and positioning steel products using overhead cranes and mechanical equipment
• Assisting with inbound and outbound steel movements
• Supporting machine operators and production processes
• Monitoring machinery and identifying production issues
• Preparing and staging steel products
• Pushing, pulling and realigning steel packs where required
• Tying, wiring and strapping finished steel packs
• Assisting with the preparation and loading of trucks
• Operating forklifts where required to assist with moving and loading finished steel products
• Using hooks and chains when positioning steel products
• Completing equipment pre-start checks where required
• Following exclusion zones, SOPs and site safety procedures

About You

We’re looking for reliable, hands-on candidates who are comfortable working within an industrial environment and are interested in developing their skills within steel manufacturing.

Previous steel or overhead crane experience is highly regarded but isn’t essential for all positions. Candidates with experience in manufacturing, production, machine operation, fabrication or industrial warehousing are also encouraged to apply.

A current forklift licence and previous forklift experience would also be beneficial, particularly for assisting with the movement and loading of finished steel products.
