Job summary

RPG Australia in Wacol, Queensland, seeks a Brake Press Operator to join a busy team. The role involves setting up and operating brake presses, reading drawings, and ensuring safe, efficient production for steel products.

You will work in warehousing, handling steel loads with overhead cranes and forklifts, and perform routine maintenance while adhering to safety standards on site.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Machine Operator or similar role.
• Brake pressing/metalworking experience is advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Forklift licence highly regarded.
• Crane licence or overhead gantry crane experience highly regarded.

We are currently looking for a Brake Press Operator to join our busy team at Wacol.

Responsibilities include:

• Warehousing and distribution of steel products using overhead cranes and forklifts
• Set up, operate, and program machines to achieve optimum efficiency and productivity.
• Prepare and inspect product, ensure production requirements are met, and bundle loads for delivery
• Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning on machines
• General warehouse duties;
• Follow and maintain high workplace safety standards at all times

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience working as a Machine Operator or in a similar role
• Previous metal and brake pressing experience is an advantage
• Experience in reading and interpreting drawings is highly regarded.
• A current forklift licence is highly regarded.
• Crane licence or experience operating overhead bridge gantry cranes highly regarded
