Job summary

James Hardie Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne, VIC, is seeking a reliable Machine & Forklift Operator for the Day Shift at our Rosehill plant. This role focuses on safety, quality, and teamwork while supporting manufacturing operations.

You will operate concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines, install moulds, perform pre-start forklift checks, handle stock with a forklift, and ensure housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Current Forklift License and valid Driver's License.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Willingness to undertake manual labour as required.
• Experience in manufacturing/warehouse/production is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines.
• Set up and install moulds and other machine fixtures.
• Collect samples and adjust machine settings to specifications.
• Set grinding and cutting edges.
• Forklift pre-start checks daily.
• Unload machinery and move product as required.
• Stock handling with forklift.
• Manual handling up to 20 kg.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across the work area.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating concrete mixing, stacking and splitting machines
• Setting up and installing moulds and other machine fixtures
• Collecting and examining samples for conformity to specifications and adjusting machine settings accordingly
• Setting grinding and cutting edges
• Forklift pre-start checklist daily
• Unloading off machinery and moving product to necessary location
• Putting stock away and moving stock around using the forklift
• Performing manual handling tasks of up to 20kg
• Maintaining housekeeping standards across the work area

What You’ll Bring

• Current Forklift License and valid Driver's License
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Willingness to undertake manual labour as required
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment will be highly regarded
