Job summary

MMG Limited is seeking an experienced LV Mechanic to join the Dugald River Mine maintenance team. The role focuses on diagnosing, repairing and maintaining Light Vehicle and Auxiliary equipment to support production goals.

The position involves an 8/7 DS, 7/6 NS roster with fly-in/fly-out options from Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Townsville or Brisbane, and on-site housing with meal services.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic.
• Experience maintaining and repairing Light Vehicles and Auxiliary equipment in mining or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems in Toyotas, LDV and auxiliary equipment.
• Familiarity with OEM software and diagnostic tools an advantage.
• Experience using maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP or similar).

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and inspections of Light Vehicle and Auxiliary equipment used in MMG operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance meet MMG standards and OEM specifications.
• Respond to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Implement MMG’s preventative maintenance schedules for reliability.
• Conduct regular inspections and pre-start checks for safety and operation.
• Adhere to MMG’s safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Identify and report safety hazards or near-misses.

LV Mechanic

We currently have a fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced LV Mechanic to join our Maintenance team at Dugald River Mine.

As part of the mobile maintenance team the Light Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Light Vehicle and Auxiliary equipment, including underground and surface equipment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing faults to ensure Light Vehicle and Auxiliary fleet reliability and compliance with MMG’s safety and operational standards, contributing to the company’s production goals and commitment to sustainability.

This role is based on an 8/7 DS, 7/6 NS roster, bus in bus out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.

Qualifications, skills & Experience

• Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing Light Vehicles and Auxiliary equipment in a mining or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Hands-on experience with maintaining and repairing Mechanical, electrical systems in Toyotas, LDV and Auxiliary Equipment
• Familiarity with OEM software and diagnostic tools an advantage.
• Experience using maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms) for tracking work orders and equipment history.

Responsibilities include

• Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and inspections of Light Vehicle and Auxiliary equipment (e.g., Toyotas, LDV and auxiliary equipment) used in MMG operations.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on Light Vehicle and Auxiliary equipment and related systems.
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed to MMG standards and O.E.M specifications.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize equipment downtime and production delays.
• Implement and adhere to MMG’s preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
• Conduct regular inspections and pre-start checks to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
• Adhere to MMG’s workplace health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted safely, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors.
