Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.
Reporting to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, this role is responsible to ensure correct and professional application of geotechnical principles to the planning and operation at Dugald River, so that compliance with Company Standards for Ground Control is achieved and maintained. This role offers an opportunity to provide strategic input to the sustainable operation of Dugald River Mine including providing recommendation for managing risks and hazards associated with LOM design.
The role is available on a FIFO (Brisbane or Townsville) or drive-in drive-out basis (DIDO) from the Cloncurry or Mount Isa Districts. The role will operate on an 8/6 roster.
With demonstrated experience as a Geotechnical Engineer within underground mining, you will have well-developed skills and personal attributes including the following:
On‑site accommodation at Dugald River is provided in fully air‑conditioned en‑suite rooms and includes meal service and room cleaning.
