Job summary

Shangri-La Sydney is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to lead service teams across Altitude Restaurant and the Lobby Lounge & Café Mix. The role focuses on delivering luxury guest experiences, staff development and seamless operation in a high-volume luxury hotel environment.

You will collaborate with culinary teams, manage reservations and guest flow, and contribute to marketing initiatives to drive outlet traffic.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within a restaurant, hotel or high-end hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service, restaurant operations and guest experience.
• Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the service team to deliver warm, professional and attentive service across Altitude Restaurant or Lobby Lounge and Café Mix.
• Oversee reservations, guest management and table allocation to optimise restaurant flow and service efficiency.
• Assist with staff scheduling, training and development to build a skilled, engaged and high-performing team.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure menu items are delivered consistently and to expected quality standards.
• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
• Assist with the implementation of marketing initiatives, promotions and activations to drive restaurant and lounge traffic.
• Maintain strong knowledge of menus, beverage offerings and hotel facilities to enhance the overall guest experience.
• Support the broader Food & Beverage operation and hotel as required.
