Job summary

Linde is seeking an experienced Plant Operations Supervisor in Australia to lead day-to-day plant activities, oversee LPG transfers, and ensure production targets are met safely. The role involves supervising staff and contractors, managing permits, and coordinating emergency responses across sites.

You will drive continuous improvement, maintain regulatory compliance, and contribute to delivery reliability while promoting a strong safety culture and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in industrial gas production, petrochemical or refinery operations with supervisory responsibility.
• Proven leadership in plant operations, planning, maintenance coordination and contractor management.
• Strong knowledge of process safety, risk management and permit-to-work systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call roster and travel between sites for emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day plant operations, including supervision of loading, unloading and LPG transfers, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity.
• Maintain a safe workplace by adhering to Linde Life Saving Rules and Major Hazard Facility requirements, promoting a safety culture.
• Supervise and coordinate employees and contractors to meet production and safety standards.
• Manage plant operations, production planning, shutdowns, start-ups and emergency response activities.
• Issue work permits and oversee safe work practices.
• Act as the Emergency Warden, coordinating evacuation drills and emergency responses.
• Ensure timely delivery outcomes while managing stock control and chemical handling.
• Prepare and distribute daily production reports, coordinate transport documentation and support training initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement, cost optimisation, risk management and performance monitoring using process data.
