Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Sydney seeks a Production Engineer (Vice President) to own the production environment for GSET applications, providing critical day-to-day production support for electronic trading platforms.

You will collaborate with global teams across Asia Pac and beyond, using Python, shell scripts, SQL, and Java/C++ in a UNIX environment to monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance tooling and release processes for fast-paced markets.

Qualifications

• Extensive production engineering experience for low-latency systems.
• Proficiency with Python, shell, SQL, and UNIX environments.
• Strong programming background in Java/C++.
• Experience supporting electronic trading environments or algo trading preferred.
• Ability to collaborate across global teams and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own the production environment and provide day-to-day production support, incident and crisis management with deep technical expertise.
• Manage system health through monitoring, alerting, provisioning and capacity management.
• Enhance tooling and release management systems; drive improvements through RCAs.
• Collaborate with development on design reviews, capacity planning and launches.
• Work with global teams across Asia Pac and beyond on regional/global initiatives.
• Contribute to Python-based configuration, deployment system and onboarding of applications.
