Job summary

NQSS & TFH Hire Cairns is a growing Far North Queensland business supplying temporary fencing, portable toilets, luxury showers, ensuites and site equipment to the construction, events and civil industries. This hands-on role combines office management, customer service, bookings and daily operations in a dynamic team environment.

You will work with management, customers, drivers and our yard team to coordinate jobs, ensure equipment is clean and ready, and escalate issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Confidence dealing with customers by phone, email and in person.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office, email and job management systems.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities.
• A practical, hands-on attitude and willingness to get out into the yard when required.
• The confidence to inspect equipment and speak up when something is not up to standard.
• The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Answer phone calls and emails and provide professional, friendly customer service.
• Enter, manage and update bookings and jobs in computer and job management systems.
• Work with customers to confirm hire requirements, delivery details and site information.
• Coordinate with the yard team to ensure equipment is prepared and ready for each booking.
• Carry out pre-departure checks on hire equipment.
• Assist with general office administration and keep records accurate and up to date.
• Work closely with the Yard Manager, drivers and management to keep daily operations running efficiently.
