Job summary

KOMPAN Australia in Zillmere, QLD, is offering a trainee role within our logistics and supply chain team. You will learn how equipment moves from quotation to project completion, covering freight, warehousing, shipping, customs documentation and inventory management.

You will earn a structured Traineeship wage, with a fully funded Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations and hands-on mentoring. A clear path to ongoing full-time employment exists upon successful completion, with forklift

Qualifications

• A recent school leaver with no logistics experience required.
• Willing to follow instructions and procedures.
• Interest in logistics, freight or supply chain is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing freight quotes for local and international shipments (air & sea).
• Learn to track and trace shipments and maintain the logistics schedule.
• Support Project Managers by updating shipping dates in Navision.
• Liaise with suppliers of local production and the wider international team.
• Maintain accuracy of the inventory system under guidance.
• Prepare documentation for Australian customs clearance.

Job description

Working alongside the Sales Support and Operations team, you'll be trained step-by-step in how equipment moves from quotation through to project completion — covering freight, warehousing, shipping, customs documentation and inventory management. You'll gain hands‑on experience and a nationally recognised qualification, setting you up with real, transferable skills for a career in logistics and supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing freight quotes for local and international shipments (air & sea)
• Learn to track and trace shipments, and help maintain the incoming & outgoing logistics schedule
• Support Project Managers by helping update shipping dates in Navision
• Assist with liaising with suppliers of local production and the wider international team
• Help maintain the accuracy of the inventory system, under guidance
• Learn how to prepare documentation for Australian customs clearance
• Provide back‑up support for Storeman functions and the wider Sales Support team
• Work towards a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations, with the option to gain your Forklift Licence as part of your training

About You

• A recent school leaver or someone new to the workforce – no logistics experience required
• Keen to learn, reliable, and motivated to build a long‑term career
• Good communication skills and a strong eye for detail
• Comfortable using a computer (e.g. email, Microsoft Office) or willing to learn
• A positive, patient attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Willing to follow instructions and procedures, and to ask questions along the way
• An interest in logistics, freight or supply chain is a bonus, but not essential
