Job summary

ALS Environmental in Cairns is seeking a full-time Logistics Officer to help establish our new office. You will coordinate sample deliveries, support client services, and work closely with couriers, laboratories and local stakeholders to ensure accurate receipt, preparation and dispatch of environmental samples.

This hands-on role offers training on-site, a supportive regional team, and the chance to grow with a developing operation across Far North Queensland.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line client support via phone, email and face-to-face interactions.
• Receive and coordinate incoming sample deliveries, including urgent submissions.
• Prepare sampling bottles and kits for client use.
• Review and process sample submissions, including Chain of Custody documentation.
• Sort, label, pack and dispatch samples for courier or collection.
• Coordinate freight and logistics to ALS laboratories.
• Liaise with internal teams and clients regarding sample requirements and queries.
• Maintain sample storage and ensure safe handling and disposal practices.
• Support team operations and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
