Job summary

MediRecruit is seeking a Physiotherapist to join a residential aged care team in the Wide Bay region, QLD for a 4-week locum from 16 November to 11 December 2026. You will support residents’ mobility, safety and quality of life with mentoring from experienced clinical leaders.

Essential: Physiotherapy degree, full AHPRA registration, valid driver’s licence, and Australian work eligibility. Accommodation is provided, with flexible hours and no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Physiotherapy (essential).
• Full AHPRA registration (essential).
• Aged care/residential care experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Current driver's licence (essential).
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check, or willingness to obtain.
• Current flu and COVID vaccination evidence.
• Medicare Provider Number, or willingness to obtain.
• Eligible to work permanently in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat residents with chronic conditions and musculoskeletal injuries, and develop management plans.
• Complete initial assessments to guide care planning and interventions.
• Carry out manual handling and functional capacity assessments to support safe care.
• Implement falls prevention strategies and educate residents and staff on risk management.
• Prescribe mobility aids and clinical equipment to suit individual needs.
• Prepare clinical and community referrals for further medical or allied health support.
