Job summary

Mornington Screening Service in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Loader Operator for day or afternoon shifts within a busy production environment. This hands-on role emphasises safety, efficiency, and reliable material handling on a fast-paced site.

Reporting to the Production Lead, you will operate loaders and related plant equipment, maintain raw material flow, perform pre-start checks, monitor stockpiles, and assist with maintenance and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and associated plant equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a continuous supply of raw materials to production lines.
• Perform daily pre-start checks, maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
• Monitor stockpiles to ensure proper segregation and inventory control.
• Prevent cross-contamination of materials during handling.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across the site.
• Complete accurate daily production reports.
• Identify and report plant faults, breakdowns, and safety hazards.
• Assist with plant operations, trials and general production tasks as required.

Loader Operator – Day Shifts and Afternoon Shifts available
Full-Time | Immediate Start Available

We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Loader Operator to join our busy production team on either day shift or afternoon shift. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high operational and safety standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of plant and equipment, maintaining consistent raw material supply, and meeting daily production targets across our site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loaders and associated plant equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain continuous supply of raw materials to production lines (CBL, Woodfibre, Baling/Bagging)
• Perform daily pre-start checks, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment
• Monitor stockpiles to ensure proper segregation and inventory control
• Prevent cross-contamination of materials during handling
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across the site
• Complete accurate daily production reports
• Identify and report plant faults, breakdowns, and safety hazards
• Assist with plant operations, trials, and general production tasks as required

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience operating front-end loaders or similar machinery
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic
• Must be available for occasional Saturday overtime
• Must be computer literate

Working Hours

Day shift hours: Monday to Thursday 5.00am to 1.30pm, Friday 5.00am to 11.00am

Afternoon shift hours: Monday to Thursday 1.15pm to 9.45pm, Friday 10.45am to 4.45pm
