Job summary

RLX invites applications for a livestock yard role at the Leongatha site, located at 670 South Gippsland Hwy, Koonwarra VIC. The role covers movement, handling and deliveries of Prime and Store cattle, plus associated sale day tasks and facility maintenance.

Essential experience includes livestock handling and adherence to animal welfare standards, with a valid driver’s license, First Aid, and firearms licensure where applicable.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in livestock handling and sale yard processes.
• Commitment to animal welfare and safe work practices in a sale yard environment.
• Holder of a current state driver’s license.
• First Aid Certificate and, if applicable, a firearms license.
• Understanding of low-stress stock handling techniques.
• Ability to perform manual tasks and meet the physical demands of a sale yard role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the movement of livestock within the facility.
• Manage Prime and Store cattle deliveries.
• Undertake feeding of livestock and assist in sale day activities.
• Pre-sale scanning, post-sale weighing, and delivery for cattle sales.
• Reconcile animals sold and delivered; assist with sale day accounting and administration.
• Coordinate cleaning and maintenance of cattle and sheep facilities; conduct welfare checks.
