Job summary

RLX Operating Company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our Leongatha livestock exchange facility. The role reports to the Business Manager and focuses on safe throughput, maintenance, compliance, and animal welfare across the site.

You will manage staff, coordinate sale days, oversee maintenance, and drive improvements while liaising with agents, buyers, transporters and local businesses. A strong leadership presence and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold current First Aid Certificate and a valid driver license.
• Experience in livestock operations with leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated safety, compliance and animal welfare focus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Business Manager in the day-to-day operation of the RLX facility.
• Lead operational activities for livestock movement and sale days.
• Manage sale-day activities to ensure safe throughput of livestock.
• Lead maintenance teams to uphold high standards and preventative maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement across operations and maintenance.
• Support financial reporting, budgets and compliance activities.
• Address animal welfare incidents and ensure proper reporting.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings; assist with regulatory visits.
• Develop relationships with agents, buyers, suppliers and community.
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to succession planning.
