Job description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Afternoon Shift Plant Labourer to join our operations team at our Yennora facility. The role will primarily support the operation, cleaning and general maintenance of our grease trap and liquid waste processing plant. This is a hands‑on position suited to someone who is comfortable working in an industrial waste environment and takes pride in keeping the plant safe, clean and operating efficiently.

Key responsibilities

Assisting with the daily operation of the grease trap and liquid waste processing plant.

Receiving and assisting with the unloading of liquid waste tankers.

Connecting and disconnecting hoses, pumps and associated equipment.

Monitoring tanks, pumps, screens and processing equipment during operation.

Cleaning tanks, screens, pits, processing areas and associated plant equipment.

Pressure washing and general wash-down of operational areas.

Removing and managing solids and other residues generated through the treatment process.

Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping throughout the plant.

Identifying and immediately reporting leaks, spills, equipment faults or other operational issues.

Completing basic operational records and paperwork as required.

About you

Reliable and punctual.

Physically fit and comfortable performing manual work.

Comfortable working around grease trap waste, liquid waste and industrial processing operations.

Safety conscious and willing to follow procedures.

Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Willing to undertake cleaning and housekeeping duties as a significant part of the role.

Able to communicate clearly with supervisors, drivers and other team members.

Willing to learn plant operations and develop additional skills.

Available to work afternoon shift on a consistent basis.

Desirable: Forklift licence, HR or MR driver's licence, Confined Space training, Working at Heights training, experience operating pumps and hoses, pressure cleaning experience, waste or recycling industry experience, or experience working around liquid waste treatment or processing equipment.
