Job summary

Children’s Cancer Institute is seeking a Liquid Biopsy Biosample Technician to advance pediatric cancer research. You will ensure high-quality collection, processing, and biobanking of liquid biopsy specimens (blood, bone marrow, CSF) and maintain genomic integrity for downstream analyses.

The role requires flexibility to accommodate clinical timelines, including working on Saturdays as part of the weekly roster. A biology-related degree and hands-on lab experience are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience in a biobanking, pathology, or clinical research laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with liquid biopsy processing, including handling whole blood, extracting plasma, and preserving cell-free DNA/RNA.
• Proven experience using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for detailed sample tracking.
• Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and standard biosafety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality collection, processing and biobanking of liquid biopsy specimens.
• Adhere to SOPs to preserve genomic and proteomic integrity for downstream molecular analyses.
• Support time-sensitive biospecimens and ZERO program activities.
• Work on Saturdays as part of the weekly roster.
