Job summary

Mode Talent Pty Ltd in Sydney or Singapore seeks a hardcore Linux engineer to own ultra-low latency trading infrastructure. You will work on a nano-second, high-frequency trading system with Co-Lo, large on-prem environments, and 24/7 roster support for crypto trading.

Relocation for ex-pats to Sydney or Singapore, 4-day work week, and substantial compensation up to AU$800k including bonuses for top performers.

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux background, high-frequency trading infra is a plus.
• Experience with performance tuning, profiling, and debugging of complex stacks.
• Hands-on with configuration management tools (Salt, Puppet, Ansible).
• Willingness to operate within a 24/7 crypto trading roster.

Responsibilities

• Support global trading infrastructure across HPC environments.
• Maintain and evolve low-latency Linux-based systems.
• Collaborate with on-call teams to ensure system reliability and uptime.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement robust fixes.

I’m recruiting the best Linux Engineers in Australia. If you’re a hardcore Linux guru and want to work on a nano-second high-frequency – Low latency Co-Lo trading system.

Sydney or Singapore *will relocate ex-pats.

Roster supporting 24/7 crypto trading – 1 weekend in every three will be on call 2 12-hour shifts, with a maximum of 2 years on this roster and then back to 5 businessdays.

Large On-Prem, Co-Lo – Low latency Linux experience a must, HFT, trading or Financial Industrya Bonus

Operate as one global team to support infrastructure, including multiple world-leading High-Performance Computing environments and a diverse global trading infrastructure that operates across many global financial markets.

• Extensive experience profiling and debugging application stacks
• Extensive experience designing, building, and maintaining complicated systems
