Job summary

Xestro Pty Ltd on the Sunshine Coast invites an Infrastructure Engineer – Linux & AWS to join our Maroochydore office. You’ll own the Linux fleet and AWS infrastructure that powers our healthcare platform, ensuring reliability, security and scalable operations.

You will automate and document processes, reduce manual work, and work closely with software and platform engineers to drive modernisation while maintaining production stability. On-call rotation included.

Qualifications

• Strong professional Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience operating business-critical production systems.
• Experience operating and troubleshooting production web services, ideally Apache and PHP.
• Strong AWS experience, particularly EC2, Auto Scaling Groups, VPC, IAM, load balancing, DNS
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, TLS and Linux networking fundamentals
• Experience with patching, operating system upgrades and fleet lifecycle management
• Shell scripting / Ansible / Terraform and infrastructure automation experience
• Experience with Datadog or a comparable observability platform, including infrastructure monitoring, logs, alerting and incident response
• Experience developing and maintaining operational runbooks
• Experience participating in an on‑call or production support rotation
• Australian working rights and the ability to work from our Maroochydore office

Responsibilities

• Manage Linux and EC2 infrastructure supporting core production platform.
• Administer Linux fleet, AWS infrastructure, Apache and PHP services, RDS.
• Monitor and respond to incidents using Datadog; manage capacity, patching and automation.
• Reduce reliance on manually managed systems and document workflows; move to version-controlled infra.
• Set operational standards, identify systemic risks, guide technical decisions and share knowledge with the team.
• Collaborate with experienced software, platform and infrastructure engineers.
• Participate in an on-call incident response rotation.
