Job summary

The National Measurement Institute invites applications for a LIMS Administrator (APS6 equivalent) to manage and support the Sample Manager system across Melbourne and Sydney. You will work with ICT and business teams to troubleshoot, enhance functionality, and produce technical documentation.

The ideal candidate has practical LIMS administration experience, strong SQL/database skills, and experience with programming languages such as C#, VB, Java and HTML.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge of LIMS administration in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in programming/scripting languages such as VGL, C#, VB, Java, HTML.
• Strong database administration skills and ability to use SQL for data extraction/correction.
• Familiarity with IT applications and rapid learning of new systems.
• Experience in data processing and use of standard desktop tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the LIMS system (Sample Manager) across Melbourne/Sydney.
• Develop/enhance functionality using VGL, configure software, test, troubleshoot and document.
• Collaborate with LIMS admins, Developers, ICT and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical support, train staff and ensure change control and quality procedures.
• Develop interfaces and documentation (SOPs, test plans).
• Perform routine maintenance, backups, user access management and vendor liaison.
