Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking a LIMS System Administrator (APS6 equivalent) to support laboratories across Australia in a 12-month contract. Based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Canberra with flexible work arrangements, the role collaborates with internal ICT teams and external vendors to maintain and enhance LIMS functionality.

To be successful in this role, you are required to have the following:

• Proven experience in LIMS administration, preferably with Sample Manager or a similar system used in scientific laboratories.
• Practical knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as C#, Visual Basic, Java, HTML, or SQL.
• Solid understanding of database administration and data extraction using SQL.
• Familiarity with scientific laboratory environments and the role of LIMS within laboratory workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• High level of motivation, initiative, and sound judgment.
• Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

It is desirable if you have:

• Experience working in or with laboratory or scientific environments.
• Prior knowledge of availability and problem management processes within IT Service Management frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience in designing or coding simple programs or scripts.
