H&D Automotive Pty Ltd in Darra, Brisbane is hiring a Light Vehicle Mechanic for diesel 4WD performance fit-outs, including turbo upgrades, intercoolers, injectors and fuel systems. The role is based in a brand new workshop with an in-house dyno, Monday to Friday.

You will fit performance parts to common 4WDs, service and diagnose diesel engines, run dyno tests, document work clearly for sales and customers, and keep the workshop tidy and organized.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel 4WDs is a big plus.
• Turbo and fuel system work is a plus.
• Diagnose properly instead of throwing parts at a problem.
• Tidy, careful, and honest about what you’re not sure of.
• Current manual driver licence and full working rights in Australia.

• Service and diagnose diesel 4WDs
• Run cars on the in-house dyno before and after upgrades
• Test drive, check your own work, and hand the car back the way you’d want yours handed back
• Write up clear job notes so sales and the customer know what was done and why
• Flag fitment problems and part issues back to the team so we fix them at the source
• Keep the bay, tools and equipment in order

Full time Darra, Brisbane Mon to Fri New workshop, in-house dyno

Fit the parts we sell to customer 4WDs. Turbos, intercoolers, injectors, fuel systems, exhausts and clutches, mostly on LandCruisers, Patrols and Hiluxes, in a brand new workshop with the latest equipment and a dyno down the hall.

H&D Automotive sells 4×4 performance parts and spares from our warehouse in Darra, Brisbane. Most of our customers drive LandCruisers, Patrols and Hiluxes, and plenty of them want more power or more reliability out of a 1HD-FTE, 1HZ or TD42. A lot of them would rather we fit it than do it on the driveway, which is where our workshop comes in.

About the role

We’re hiring a Light Vehicle Mechanic for the workshop. The work is mostly performance fit-outs on diesel 4WDs: turbo upgrades, intercoolers, injectors and fuel pumps, exhausts, clutches and the servicing that goes with them. Some days it’s a full upgrade kit on a 100 Series. Other days it’s a clutch, a service and a test drive.

You’ll be working on the same parts we sell every day, so you’ll know them better than most people in the country, and the sales team will lean on you when a customer asks a fitment question nobody can answer from a catalogue.

The workshop is brand new. Fresh fit-out, latest equipment, and an in-house dyno in its own sealed, ventilated and extracted room, so before-and-after runs happen here, not across town. Founder-led business, growing 45 to 80% a year.

What you’ll do
