Job summary

Sunshine Coast Diesel Tuning in Warana, QLD, is seeking a Performance Mechanic / Automotive Technician to join our growing specialist workshop. You will work on diesel performance upgrades, turbochargers, ECM tuning and related installations on 4WDs and performance vehicles.

Ideal candidates have mechanical experience, a practical skill set, and a willingness to learn. A valid driver's license is required, and automotive trade qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

Enjoy working on modified 4WDs, upgraded turbochargers and performance vehicles? Looking for something more interesting than the same servicing jobs every day?

Sunshine Coast Diesel Tuning is looking for an experienced mechanic to join our growing performance workshop in Warana.

We specialise in diesel performance, ECU and transmission tuning, diagnostics and mechanical upgrades. From everyday touring 4WDs to heavily modified performance builds, no two days are necessarily the same.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in their workmanship and wants to be part of a specialist automotive business.

You don't need to be a tuning expert or have years of performance workshop experience. If you're a capable mechanic with the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be working on

You'll be involved in a range of mechanical and performance upgrades, including:

• Turbocharger upgrades, replacements and installations
• Intercoolers, intake systems and piping
• Performance exhaust systems and modifications
• Transmission coolers and supporting upgrades
• Snorkels, catch cans and 4WD accessories
• Fuel system and injector upgrades
• Intake manifold removal, cleaning and refitting

• Stage 2 and Stage 3 performance builds
• General mechanical work and performance-related repairs

We regularly work on Ford Rangers, Toyota Hiluxes and LandCruisers, Isuzu D-MAX/MU-X, Mazda BT-50s, Nissan Patrols and Navaras, VW Amaroks and other performance vehicles.

What we're looking for

We're not necessarily looking for someone who has done everything before.

We're looking for a reliable, capable mechanic who can approach a job confidently, work through problems and take pride in getting things right.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience working as a mechanic or automotive technician
• Strong mechanical knowledge and practical skills
• The ability to work independently and manage assigned jobs
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanshipConfidence diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• A current driver's licence

An automotive trade qualification is preferred.

Experience with diesel 4WDs, turbochargers, performance modifications, fabrication or aftermarket accessories is highly regarded, but not essential.

Employment options

Full-Time Mechanic - $40-$55/hr + Super

We're looking for someone who wants to become a valued part of our workshop and help grow our mechanical and performance installation services.

Subcontractor - $80-$100/hr

We're also open to experienced independent mechanics or contractors operating under their own ABN who are interested in regular mechanical and performance installation work.

Rates will depend on experience, capabilities and the agreed working arrangement.
