Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited in Tumut is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant to enhance residents' daily lives through activities, outings and social events. You will help plan and deliver engaging lifestyle programs, support residents during activities, and build meaningful relationships with residents and families in a supportive team environment.

The role offers a part-time schedule (Thu & Fri 9am-5pm, Sat & Sun 10am-4pm) with a pay rate of $38 per hour plus superannuation, and salary packaging

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Leisure and Health or a similar qualification.
• Similar experience in a previous role.
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with residents and families.
• Willingness to obtain Police Check and NDIS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Encourage resident choice, independence and participation in activities.
• Assist with design, delivery and monitoring of lifestyle programs.
• Create events and experiences connecting residents with community, volunteers and families.
• Provide direct resident support during activities and outings, including bus trips and personal care.
• Build positive relationships and contribute to a respectful team culture.
• Work safely and follow policies to protect residents and colleagues.

As a Lifestyle Assistant at Blakeney Lodge in Tumut, you’ll play an important role in creating meaningful moments for our residents. From social activities and community outings to everyday conversations and celebrations, you’ll help bring joy, connection and purpose to their day.

About the Role:

• Encourage resident choice, independence and participation in meaningful individual and group activities
• Assist with the design, delivery and monitoring of engaging lifestyle programs and activities
• Create and deliver innovative events and experiences that bring residents together and, where possible, connect them with the wider community, volunteers, family and friends
• Provide direct resident support during activities and outings, including bus trips, personal hygiene and toileting
• Build positive relationships with residents and contribute to an environment where everyone feels valued and included
• Support your colleagues and contribute to a positive, respectful and cooperative team culture
• Work safely and responsibly, following all policies and procedures to protect yourself, your colleagues and our residents

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• Certificate III or IV in Leisure and Health, Individual Support or a similar qualification
• Similar experience in a previous role
• Strong communication skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to get involved
• The ability to build and maintain professional, respectful relationships with residents and their families
• A reliable, caring and enthusiastic approach to teamwork
• A commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of every resident
• Willingness to obtain a Police Check and NDIS clearance
