Job summary

Catholic Healthcare’s Villa Maria Unanderra location in Unanderra, NSW seeks a Lifestyle Leader to develop, plan and implement activities that support residents’ social, psychological, recreational, cultural and spiritual wellbeing.

You will lead the lifestyle team, encourage resident participation, conduct assessments and coordinate events with community, volunteers and families while adhering to policies and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• A kind heart and passion for providing high quality care to the elderly.
• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or similar.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Strong coaching/training skills.
• Able to establish and maintain professional relationships with residents and their families.
• Respect residents' values, customs, preferences, and spiritual beliefs.
• Excellent IT skills (testing will apply).
• NDIS and Police check clearance or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging resident choice and participation in individual and group activities.
• Conducting resident assessments to understand preferences and needs.
• Planning and implementing events and activities with community involvement.
• Acting as team leader, coaching, supervising and guiding the lifestyle team.

• Permanent Full-time - 38 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday 9am - 4:30pm & Friday 9am - 5pm
• Pay rate - $39.90 per hour + superannuation
• Not-for-profit employer, so pay less tax!

As a member of the Leadership team at Villa Maria Unanderra, you will be developing, planning and implementing lifestyle activities and programs, ensuring residents have choice in maintaining their social, psychological, recreational cultural and spiritual wellbeing.

About The Role

• Encouraging resident choice and participation in individual and group activities
• Conducting resident assessments to gain a deeper understanding of each resident's preference and needs
• Planning and implementing innovative events and lifestyle activities for residents and where possible involving the wider community, volunteers and residents family and friends
• Acting as team leader, providing coaching, supervision and guidance to the lifestyle team
• Working in a safe manner to protect yourself, your colleagues and residents closely following all policies and procedures

To be successful in this role you’ll need
