Job summary

Mosman Library Services is seeking a dedicated Library Officer to deliver reference, information and reader advisory services in a busy library. You will coordinate inter-library loans and access to multicultural collections, while supporting collection management and daily operations.

The role requires a library qualification and strong communication abilities, with a focus on teamwork, accuracy and delivering high-quality service to residents of Mosman Council.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Library and Information Science (or equivalent).
• Experience delivering reference and information services, including the use of library management systems, databases and digital resources.
• Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Highly organised with strong computer skills (Microsoft 365), the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service through reference, information, lending and reader advisory services.
• Coordinate inter-library loans, reservations and access to multicultural and community language collections.
• Support the management and accessibility of library collections, including periodicals, shelving and collection maintenance.
• Contribute to library operations through data reporting, administrative support and teamwork to ensure high-quality service delivery.
