Job summary

Griffith University Library invites applications for a Library Services Officer, Library Campus Services, to provide frontline services across multiple touchpoints, including face-to-face, telephone and digital platforms. The role supports access to resources, research assistance and information literacy development for students and staff.

Based at Brisbane City (South Bank), the position is full-time, with availability to work at other campus libraries including Brisbane CBD, Logan and Nathan.

Qualifications

• Completed or enrolled in an Australian Library and Information Association accredited course with relevant experience, or relevant library experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a positive library experience for clients at online and on-campus service points.
• Support clients in accessing library resources using the catalogue and databases.
• Foster information literacy skills at first tier and support learning journeys.
• Assist with research and referencing for assignments and direct to self-help resources.
• Support interlibrary loans and access to materials via reading lists.

Griffith University Library operates five campus libraries and provides services and expertise to the Griffith University teaching, learning and research community. Library Campus Services Team work closely with clients and establish and maintain strong relationships to deliver useful and timely products and services, and access to resources.

As a Library Services Officer, Library Campus Services, you will provide a range of frontline services including general enquiries, research assistance, resource access and computing assistance to clients, delivered through face to face, telephone and digital service points.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a positive library experience to all library clients, by providing online and on-campus support covering multiple services and resources.
• Support clients in accessing and using a range of library resources using the library catalogue, electronic databases, and online products.
• Support clients in developing their initiative and problem-solving ability through fostering information literacy skills at first tier and facilitating their learning journeys.
• Assist with research and referencing for assignments, direct to self-help resources and expedite when appropriate.
• Support the supply of Interlibrary loans to other institutions and assist in providing access to materials via course reading lists, as well as contribute to library projects.
• Use digital literacy skills to diagnose access issues, referring to other teams as required.
• Undertake regular personal and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills to enable a high level of service in a continuously changing environment.

About you

• The occupant of this position will have completed or be enrolled in an Australian Library and Information Association accredited course with relevant experience, or relevant library experience.

What we can offer

This is a full-time, continuing opportunity based at Brisbane City (South Bank). However, applicants must also be available to work at other campus libraries including Brisbane City (CBD), Logan and Brisbane South (Nathan).

HEW 4 Salary – Base range - $76,126- $80,321 plus17% superannuation. The full package range is - $89,067 - $93,976.
