Job summary

Upper Hunter Shire Council is seeking a Library Officer to enhance Merriwa and Cassilis libraries, delivering welcoming spaces and community programs. You’ll help people find books, access digital resources and run children’s activities and events.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services, has library experience, strong communication skills, and a current Working with Children Check with a valid driver’s licence.

What we need from you

We're looking for someone who is passionate about customer service and creating welcoming,inclusive spaces for the community.

Our ideal candidate will
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Library and Information Services (or a related field) and have experience in a library or similar role.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoy delivering engaging children's activities, book clubs and community events.
  • Be confident working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and an unrestricted driver's licence.

Experience using aLibrary Management System, such as Aurora, and promoting library services andactivities will be highly regarded.
