CBCity is seeking a dynamic Team Leader Collections to guide the development, management and promotion of the library’s physical collections at Bankstown Library. You will lead a high-performing team, shaping collection strategies through data and community insights to ensure accessibility and ongoing relevance for residents.

Qualifications include Library and Information Science credentials enabling ALIA membership, plus a Working with Children Check.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science enabling eligibility for ALIA professional membership, or equivalent qualifications and experience relevant to the role.
• A current Working with Children Check.
• Minimum four years' experience in a senior supervisory role leading a multi-skilled team, with demonstrated emotional intelligence and skills in coaching, staff development, performance management, change management and conflict resolution.
• Extensive experience in collection development and management, including acquisitions, procurement, cataloguing, collection evaluation, policy development and strategic planning.
• Strong financial, analytical and business management skills, including budget development, forecasting, procurement, contract management, problem-solving and data-informed decision-making.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, including the ability to prepare reports, presentations and briefing documents.
• Proficiency in library management systems and Microsoft Office applications, with a demonstrated commitment to customer service excellence and community-focused outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Lead and develop the Collections Team through coaching, workforce planning, recruitment, performance management and professional development.
• Manage the Library's physical collections, including collection development, acquisitions, cataloguing and collection evaluation, ensuring collections remain relevant and responsive to community needs.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and lead cross-team initiatives to drive collection strategies, promote library collections and maximise the accessibility, relevance and use of collections.
• Provide strategic oversight and governance of collection policies, procedures, data integrity, copyright, privacy, preservation, digitisation, risk management and disaster recovery activities.
• Manage budgets, contracts and resources, including financial planning, reporting, procurement compliance, supplier relationships and funding opportunities.
• Use data, research and community insights to evaluate collection performance, shape collection strategies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Participate in and support Library Management System upgrades and enhancements, ensuring effective testing, implementation and continuous improvement to optimise collection management and operational performance.
