Job summary

CBCity is seeking a dynamic Team Leader Collections to guide a specialist team responsible for managing the library's physical collections. You will provide strategic leadership across development, acquisitions, cataloguing and evaluation while fostering a high-performing team culture.

Collaborate with stakeholders, develop collection strategies, and use data to inform decisions to keep resources relevant and accessible for the Canterbury Bankstown community.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science enabling eligibility for ALIA membership.
• A current Working with Children Check.
• Minimum four years' experience in a senior supervisory role leading a multi-skilled team.
• Extensive experience in collection development and management, including acquisitions, procurement, cataloguing and policy development.
• Strong financial, analytical and business management skills, including budgeting and contracts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in library systems and MS Office with a customer-service focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Collections Team through coaching, workforce planning, recruitment and performance management.
• Manage the Library's physical collections, including development, acquisitions, cataloguing and evaluation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive collection strategies and maximize accessibility and use of collections.
• Provide governance of collection policies, data integrity, copyright, privacy, preservation and risk management.
• Manage budgets, contracts and resources, including procurement and funding opportunities.
• Use data and community insights to evaluate collection performance and inform decisions.
• Support Library Management System upgrades and ensure effective testing and implementation.
