Job summary

The City of Canterbury Bankstown invites applications for the role of Team Leader Collections at Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre. You will lead a specialist team in development, management and promotion of physical collections, setting strategic direction across acquisitions, cataloguing and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science enabling eligibility for ALIA professional membership.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Minimum four years' experience in a senior supervisory role leading a multi-skilled team.
• Extensive experience in collection development and management.
• Strong financial, analytical and business management skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Proficiency in library management systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Collections Team through coaching, workforce planning, recruitment, performance management and development.
• Manage the Library's physical collections, including development, acquisitions, cataloguing and evaluation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive collection strategies and maximise accessibility and relevance.
• Provide governance of collection policies, data integrity, copyright, privacy, preservation, digitisation and risk management.
• Manage budgets, contracts and resources, including financial planning, reporting and supplier relationships.
• Use data and insights to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Support Library Management System upgrades and enhancements.
