Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a Liability Claims Consultant to join our Melbourne team. You will manage a portfolio of liability claims from lodgement through settlement, assess coverage and liability, and provide technical advice to clients and stakeholders.

You will work in a hybrid setup, develop expertise in personal injury and property liability, build strong client relationships, and participate in claims strategy discussions with a global leader in claims management.

Qualifications

• Experience managing liability claims (minimum 1 year).
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation and claims handling practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work autonomously.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Desirable: tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Insurance or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of liability claims from lodgement through to settlement.
• Assessing coverage, liability and claim quantum in line with legislation and policy requirements.
• Investigating and managing complex personal injury and property liability claims.
• Providing technical advice and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Participating in client reviews and claims strategy discussions.
• Managing escalated claims matters and complaints where required.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, solicitors, brokers and external service providers.
