Job summary

Cleared Recruitment seeks an experienced Systems Administrator (Level 2) to join a Defence technology environment in Fyshwick, ACT. The role focuses on maintaining secure, enterprise ICT infrastructure, ensuring availability, security, and performance across Windows, Linux and virtualization platforms.

You will work with a high-calibre ICT team supporting mission-critical systems, with opportunities for professional development in a Defence context and exposure to large-scale enterprise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Microsoft technologies.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Exposure to virtualization technologies and enterprise storage.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN environments and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with software deployment, patch management and remote support tools.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
• Exposure to Linux administration will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident and change management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Systems Administrator (Level 2)

Cleared is partnering with a leading Australian Defence technology organisation to identify an experienced Systems Administrator (Level 2) to join a high-performing ICT team supporting secure, mission-critical environments.

This is an opportunity to work with advanced enterprise infrastructure, contribute to the delivery of Defence capability, and play a key role in maintaining the stability, security and performance of critical systems.

The Role

As a Systems Administrator, you'll be responsible for the administration, support and continuous improvement of a complex ICT environment. Working alongside experienced technical specialists, you'll provide infrastructure support across servers, networking, virtualisation platforms and business systems while ensuring operational availability and security compliance.

This role suits someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex issues, working in secure environments, and contributing to the delivery of reliable technology services that make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities
