Job summary

Cleared Recruitment seeks an experienced Systems Administrator (Level 2) to join a Defence technology environment in Fyshwick, ACT. The role focuses on maintaining secure, enterprise ICT infrastructure, ensuring availability, security, and performance across Windows, Linux and virtualization platforms.

You will work with a high-calibre ICT team supporting mission-critical systems, with opportunities for professional development in a Defence context and exposure to large-scale enterprise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure support.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server and Microsoft technologies.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Group Policy.
• Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11.
• Exposure to virtualization technologies and enterprise storage.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN environments and network troubleshooting.
• Experience with software deployment, patch management and remote support tools.
• Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
• Exposure to Linux administration will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident and change management.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support enterprise ICT infrastructure and core services.
• Manage Windows Server environments and associated Microsoft technologies.
• Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and related services.
• Provide administration and support for Linux systems where required.
• Maintain virtualisation platforms, enterprise storage and backup solutions.
• Monitor system performance, availability and security posture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network and application-related incidents.
• Support software deployment, patch management and system imaging activities.
• Assist with LAN/WAN administration and network troubleshooting.
• Implement and maintain security controls and configuration standards.
• Coordinate hardware deployment, upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and infrastructure projects.
