Job summary

FB Rice is seeking an experienced Trade Marks Assistant to join its leading IP team in Australia. You will work with attorneys, clients and overseas associates to move matters forward, manage deadlines, and deliver a high-quality client experience.

This role emphasizes accuracy, organisation, and building strong relationships within a supportive team. You’ll contribute to managing trade mark portfolios across Australia, New Zealand and internationally, with a focus on preparing filings,

Qualifications

• Several years' recent trade marks experience.
• Experience within a specialist IP practice or law firm.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Experience using IP management software, ideally Inprotech.

Responsibilities

• Preparing trade mark applications and related filings.
• Managing case records and maintaining accurate data in our IP management system.
• Monitoring deadlines and critical dates across trade mark portfolios.
• Working closely with attorneys to ensure matters progress efficiently.
• Preparing correspondence, reports and invoices.
• Liaising with clients, overseas associates and trade mark offices across multiple jurisdictions.
• Assisting with precedents, templates and process improvements.
• Supporting the smooth delivery of high-quality client service.

What You’ll Be Doing

About You

You're an experienced Trade Marks Assistant with several years' recent trade marks experience, ideally gained within a specialist IP practice or law firm.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using IP management software, ideally Inprotech
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to help wherever needed
