Job summary

Wotton + Kearney in Adelaide is seeking a highly organised Legal Administrator to join the Health team. You will support a Partner and lawyers across a busy litigation practice and become a trusted member of a collaborative team.

You’ll handle matter openings, document production, diary management and billing tasks while maintaining firm standards and a proactive, detail‑driven approach in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Legal Administrator or Legal Assistant.
  • Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider team.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Open and manage new matters, ensuring client, billing and matter details are captured accurately.
  • Prepare, format, proofread and finalise legal documents in line with firm house style.
  • Manage diaries, meetings, travel arrangements and deadlines for lawyers.
  • Assist with matter management, file maintenance, archiving and reporting.
  • Support court processes, including preparation of briefs, bundles and filings.
  • Assist with billing and financial administration, including time capture and disbursements.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.

We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-driven Legal Administrator to join our newly created role within the Health team in our Adelaide office. As our team continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting a Partner, Special Counsels and Lawyers across a busy litigation practice.

You’ll provide comprehensive administrative support, help keep matters running smoothly, and become a trusted member of a collaborative and high-performing team. This role is suited to someone who thrives in a structured environment, takes pride in precision, and enjoys being at the centre of a busy practice where no two days are the same.

What you’ll do:
  • Open and manage new matters, ensuring all client, billing and matter details are captured accurately
  • Prepare, format, proofread and finalise legal documents in line with firm house style
  • Manage diaries, meetings, travel arrangements and key deadlines for lawyers
  • Assist with matter management, including file maintenance, archiving, and tracking reporting and court deadlines
  • Support court processes, including preparation of briefs, bundles, bibles and electronic filings
  • Assist with billing and financial administration, including time capture, disbursements, expenses and billing spreadsheets
  • Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues and external stakeholders
What you bring:
  • Previous experience as a Legal Administrator / Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a willingness to support the wider team
