Job summary

Acknowledge Education in Adelaide is seeking a Lecturer in Community Services to join the academic team. You will teach into the Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, student-centred learning and connecting theory with real-world practice.

This role suits an experienced community services professional with background in family violence services, ready to mentor students and contribute to teaching excellence. No prior teaching experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or related field.
  • Experience within Family and Domestic Violence is preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ full time experience in the community services sector
  • Strong understanding of community services theory and practice
  • Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups
  • Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Genuine interest in supporting students and developing future community services professionals
  • This position does not require previous teaching experience.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a Lecturer in Community Services to join our Adelaide academic team.

This role is suited to an experienced community services professional who are ready to share their knowledge with the next generation. You may come from case work, social work, youth work, psychology, counselling, community welfare or a related field. We are seeking someone with experience within Family and Domestic Violence services to teach specialised units.

You will teach into our Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, engaging and student-centred learning. You’ll help students connect theory with real-world practice and build the confidence they need for meaningful careers in the sector.

You’ll be involved in teaching lectures and tutorials, marking assessments, providing feedback, supporting students at risk, maintaining student records and contributing to ongoing improvement in teaching practice.

To be successful, you’ll need:
