Job summary

Acknowledge Education in Sydney invites applications for Lecturers in Community Services to join the academic team. You will teach into the Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, student-centred learning that connects theory with real-world practice and prepares students for meaningful careers in the sector.

You will teach lectures and tutorials, mark assessments, provide feedback, support students at risk, and contribute to ongoing improvement in teaching practice.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or related field.
• At least 2 years’ full-time experience in the community services sector.
• Strong understanding of community services theory and practice.
• Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups.
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in supporting students and developing future community services professionals.

Responsibilities

• Teach lectures and tutorials to students in the Bachelor of Community Services.
• Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback.
• Support at-risk students and maintain student records.

We are looking for Lecturers in Community Services to join our Sydney academic team.

This role would suit experienced community services professionals who are ready to share their knowledge with the next generation. You may come from case work, social work, youth work, psychology, counselling, community welfare or a related field.

You will teach into our Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, engaging and student-centred learning. You’ll help students connect theory with real-world practice and build the confidence they need for meaningful careers in the sector.

You’ll be involved in teaching lectures and tutorials, marking assessments, providing feedback, supporting students at risk, maintaining student records and contributing to ongoing improvement in teaching practice.

Qualifications

To be successful, you’ll need:

• A postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a closely related field
• At least 2 years’ full time experience in the community services sector
• Strong understanding of community services theory and practice
• Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
• A genuine interest in supporting students and developing future community services professionals

This position does not require previous teaching experience.
