Job summary

Acknowledge Education is seeking Lecturers in Community Services to join our Sydney academic team. You will teach into our Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, engaging and student-centred learning to help students connect theory with real-world practice.

This role suits experienced professionals from case work, social work, youth work, psychology, counselling or related fields. You will be involved in lectures, tutorials, assessments, and student support.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years’ full time experience in the community services sector.
• Strong understanding of community services theory and practice.
• Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups.
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine interest in developing future professionals.

Responsibilities

• Teach into the Bachelor of Community Services with practical and student-centred learning.
• Deliver lectures and tutorials, mark assessments and provide feedback.
• Support students at risk and maintain student records.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement in teaching practice.

About the Role

• Sessional, Full time

We are looking for Lecturers in Community Services to join our Sydney academic team.

This role would suit experienced community services professionals who are ready to share their knowledge with the next generation. You may come from case work, social work, youth work, psychology, counselling, community welfare or a related field.

You will teach into our Bachelor of Community Services, delivering practical, engaging and student-centred learning. You’ll help students connect theory with real-world practice and build the confidence they need for meaningful careers in the sector.

You’ll be involved in teaching lectures and tutorials, marking assessments, providing feedback, supporting students at risk, maintaining student records and contributing to ongoing improvement in teaching practice.

Qualifications

To be successful, you’ll need:

• A postgraduate qualification in Social Work, Community Services, Psychology, Counselling or a closely related field
• At least 2 years’ full time experience in the community services sector
• Strong understanding of community services theory and practice
• Confidence presenting, teaching or facilitating groups
• Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills

This position does not require previous teaching experience.
