Job summary

Mount Rowan Secondary College in Ballarat is seeking a Learning Support Team Leader to coordinate day-to-day learning support for students with additional learning needs in Years 8–12. You will lead Education Support staff, guide student access and participation, and work with the Disability Inclusion Coordinator and Wellbeing Team to ensure a cohesive support approach.

The role focuses on coordinating services, maintaining confidential records, and contributing to an inclusive school culture

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capacity to lead and coordinate a team of Education Support staff, including allocating work and managing timetables.
• Demonstrated understanding of strategies and adjustments that support students with disability and additional learning needs.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff and external providers.
• Highly developed organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain confidential records.
• Demonstrated commitment to child safety, inclusive practice, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Staff leadership and coordination: Coordinate the day-to-day work of Learning Support Education Support staff, providing direction, practical guidance and support, and communicating relevant information, procedures and priorities.
• Staff development and timetable management: Develop and manage staff timetables and allocations, including daily changes and staffing for excursions, camps, assessments and examinations.
• Student supports: Act as a key contact for daily support of students accessing Learning Support and provide practical advice to staff.
• Student planning and coordination: Coordinate Student Support Group (SSG) processes and support individualised planning and transitions.
• Other Duties: Perform other duties consistent with the position as directed by the Principal or delegate.
