Job summary

St Andrews Christian College in Wantirna South, Melbourne, invites applications for a Learning Support Teacher – Secondary. The successful candidate will have tertiary teaching qualifications (with postgraduate Special Education preferred), current VIT registration, and a track record leading Learning

Qualifications

• Strong personal Christian faith and alignment with College beliefs.
• Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications; postgraduate Special Education highly regarded.
• Current VIT registration and eligibility to use educational assessment instruments.
• Significant classroom teaching experience with leadership of Learning Support or Diverse Learners.
• Knowledge of disability, learning difficulties, inclusive education and relevant legislation.
• Experience leading the NCCD process and managing funding applications.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs and differentiated curricula.
• Experience coordinating with parents, LAs, allied health professionals.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in literacy, numeracy and social skills intervention.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored learning support to students with diverse educational needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement individualised learning plans and strategies.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
• Develop and adapt teaching resources to cater for different learning styles and abilities.
• Work closely with parents, caregivers, and external specialists to address students’ learning challenges.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions undertaken.
• Participate in professional development to enhance knowledge of best practices in learning support.
