Job description

Learning Support Teacher - Stages 4-6

Full-time Permanent

Waverley College invites applications for a positive and enthusiastic Learning Support Teacher to commence at the start of Term 1 2027.

Applicants must be experienced, innovative practitioners, have demonstrable ICT skills, be supportive of the ethos of the College and be willing to participate in the co-curricular life of the College which supports student wellbeing.

Duties include, but are not limited to team teaching, individual and group support in mainstream classrooms, small group teaching, exam invigilation, as well as other various related administrative duties.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, flexible and responsive to the needs of students and colleagues in a range of learning settings.

The successful candidate will embrace student diversity; they will be supportive and skilled in implementation of positive interventions with students with disabilities and mental health conditions, including ADHD, ODD, dyslexia, dysgraphia, anxiety and a range of other conditions.

Direct Instruction instruction experience is preferred, but not essential. The successful applicant will be prepared to deliver leader-led Direct Instruction lessons to Learning Support classes and to Stage 4-6 classes.
