St Aloysius' College is seeking a Diverse Learning Teacher to join our Senior School on a 0.8 FTE, fixed-term basis for Term 1, 2027. Based in Sydney, the role reports to the Dean of Academic Services and focuses on supporting Years 7–12 students with diverse learning needs.

You will develop targeted learning programs, implement personalised support, and collaborate with classroom teachers to help students achieve their individual goals in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Possess relevant secondary teaching qualifications with NESA Accreditation, preferably in English, Mathematics or Science though not essential.
• Qualifications in diverse learning.
• Experience developing dynamic and effective teaching programs for students with additional learning needs.
• Knowledge of NCCD and NESA Disability Provisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communication with parents, students and staff.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing.

About the Role

Diverse Learning Teacher – Senior School

St Aloysius' College is seeking a passionate and suitably qualified Diverse Learning Teacher to join our Senior School campus in a part-time, fixed-term role for Term 1, 2027, covering a period of Long Service Leave.

Reporting to the Dean of Academic Services, the successful candidate will support students across Years 7–12 with diverse learning needs, empowering them to engage confidently in their learning and achieve their individual potential.

A passionate educator dedicated to lifelong learning, you will play an integral role in fostering a welcoming, safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive. Through the development and implementation of targeted and effective pedagogical strategies, you will provide individualised support, deliver specialised learning programs, and collaborate closely with classroom teachers to ensure students are equipped to meet their academic goals.

As a Diverse Learning specialist, you will work in partnership with parents, teachers and academic leaders to support the wellbeing, growth and success of each student. You will be committed to promoting independence, confidence and resilience in learners while building strong, positive relationships that enable students to achieve their personal best.

Your Application

To be considered for this position, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate:

Commitment to the mission of Catholic education of boys in the Jesuit tradition;

Possess relevant secondary teaching qualifications with NESA Accreditation, preferably in the areas of English, Mathematics or Science though not essential;

Possess relevant qualifications in diverse learning;

Demonstrated experience to develop and implement dynamic and effective teaching programs for students with additional learning enrichment or support needs in conjunction with regular classroom teachers;

Knowledge of administration requirements pertaining to National Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) and NESA Disability Provisions;

Possess highly developed interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff;

Demonstrated willingness to become involved in the College’s co‑curricular activities;

Demonstrated excellent organisational and administrative skills in relation to the application for disability provisions;

Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislative requirements, particularly those related to Child Protection/Safeguarding Children, WHS and risk management;

High level of written and verbal communication skills;

Possess a valid Working with Children Check.
